Darkly I remember heavy crystal glasses that I found in the morning next to a green bottle with two little dogs on the label, one black and the other white. My father had obviously offered
a glass of it to my class teacher, who was on a parental visit the night before.
There was an intense woody smell that came up to my nose from the empty glasses
and I remembered it when I discovered whisky myself after years.
That was as my friend bought a bottle of Glenlivet single malt 12yo,
which we almost completely emptied one evening together with others.
On the label of the bottle was written: "The single malt that started it all." and it actually came true. The second was a turquoise-green bottle from an absolutely unpronounceable distillery
and the short name "Laddie Ten", whose great content did the rest.
Since then, whisky has always stayed with us and inspired us more and more.
The idea for the trail came about on one of our trips to Scotland, when we visited the breathtaking West Coast. We noticed that in addition to the traditional distilleries, there were also new companies that focused on sustainability and ecological criteria in the craft production of Single Malt.
We absolutely loved the unique mixture of distilleries on the shores of the West Highlands. That's when the idea of the West Highland Coastal Whisky Triangle was born. We tried to translate the trails name into the Gaelic language, which was originally spoken in the region, and came up with
